For years I've been a registered nursing with a cardiovascular surgery specialty. This is a day job and keeps the bills paid. All other hours of the day I'm tinkering in my studio and chasing my muse.
I have been designing jewelry as a free lance artist for 17 years.
Doing custom order work among other things, I lamp work and fuse art glass for my designs.I also solder Sterling and Fine Silver, weave, wire, wire wrapping, wire crochet, work with polymer clay, precious metal clay. I work in crystals, gemstones, pearls, shells, and literally anything else that catches my fancy!
- Experience and Creativity
My history as a designer embraces a huge body of work. I soldered lovely fine silver filigree into wearable art. I've spent months and months torching original art glass beads for use in my designs. Hours of fusing glass in the kiln have offered up some unique and lovely focals for my designs. Polymer clay captures my heart as a fast and almost immediate gratification medium for certain styles of jewelry design. My favorite perhaps is the three dimensional wearable floral art I create with French, Russian, and Venetian style beaded florals.
- Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy foreign languages, great food, reading, and most of all jewelry design.
I produce and host an on-line radio talk show every Sunday called The Jewelry Connection, where I interview independent jewelry artists and review their work with streaming video. We offer seasonal jewelry shows by independent artists, tutorials from or for jewelry artists, and host inspirational discussions to pump the creative juices.
