- About me
I graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA. Since then, I've been working at a restaurant and finding time to do various art projects, from jewelry design to drawing and painting. I really enjoy bringing graphic elements into all of my projects and making unique pieces with vintage materials. I take every day at a time and rarely do the ideas in my head make it into real finished pieces. I'm more of a dreamer than a doer I suppose, but i'm trying to break out of that habit and start a real business of my own someday.
- Experience and Creativity
Like I said before, my training is in graphic design, but i've dabbled in other areas, such as fibers, fashion design, accessories design, painting, drawing, jewelry design, and photography. The best and most rewarding job I ever had was working with the Migrant Center in Mount Morris, NY. I spent a summer back home teaching two groups of migrant workers, mainly from Mexico, how to design and batik their own tshirts. I had a translator with me, but it was so exciting to be able to communicate with them through art and example, rather than using the translator for everything. Some things break the language barrier.
- Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy good music and food, especially cooking a good meal that i've never tried to make before, it's always a bit of an experiment. I also love to bake, my sweet tooth gets the best of me most of the time. Spending time with my dog and watching movies with my boyfriend make a relaxing evening.
- Fields of Creativity
Graphic design, fibers, sewing, patterns, painting, brainstorming, dreaming
- Favorite Movies and Books
Con Air, Joe Dirt, Benjamin Button, anything with Will Ferrell, The Notebook, 21 Grams, others I'm forgetting.
As for books, I mostly read fashion magazines lately to get inspired and browse copies of Print and How from Barnes and Noble.
