About me

I'm a stay-at-home mom of three. I started making jewelry as a way to escape from the stresses of everyday. It soon turned from a hobby to an addiction, and I started my own business in 2007. I use mostly sterling silver, Swarovski crystal, and freshwater pearls. I have only done 2 or 3 pieces that didn't have any crystals in them. I just love the color choices and the sparkle. I'm definitely a Swarkie-addict!

Experience and Creativity

I started making jewelry as a young girl, but it was always simple and made mostly with glass beads. It had been years since I'd done any beading when my mother-in-law got me started making beaded snowflakes. From there, it was an easy shift back into jewelry-making, and I haven't been able to stop since. My mother- and sister-in-law finally convinced me to turn it into a business. My husband won't be retiring anytime soon, but it has allowed me to create items that I normally wouldn't be able to afford to make.

Hobbies and Interests

When she wasn't teaching, my mother was a quilter and artist, so I grew up yearning to create. I love scrapbooking the many photos of my kids. I haven't had much time for it since starting my business, but I'm hoping to get my desk oraganized and attack my ever-growing box of photos now that things have gotten off the ground.
