I looked at my large 36x21x10mm crystal waiting for inspiration. The crystal is beautiful, catching the light and reflecting it off in all directions. I changed my mind many many times about color combinations. All I knew for sure was that I wanted my crystal to have a heart. I also knew it needed something to hang on that was not the usual; I needed to mix it up a bit.
I used sterling chain in different lengths for the drape and added crystals using eye pins and head pins. By the time I was done I had Gyspy on my mind; the way the drape congregates more to one side like a scarf hanging from someone's head.
I also wanted it to be able to be worn long 24", a little shorter, a little shorter or even or as a choker. I added crystals to the end of the satin rope so that no matter where the necklace was tied the crystals would add a little pizzazz to the back. After all, pizzazz is a girl's best friend.
I used a combination of siam, jet, clear, and indicolite crystals. The indicolite color is just the color for my mother's birthday. The red heart shows the love and the other crystals and sterling add warmth. I used the satin twisted rope to dress it up or down depending on what it is worn with. The holidays are around the corner so I imagine "dressed up" will be the order of the day.
