Color Chart Evening Bag
This is a simple idea and a simple technique that I used to showcase as many beautiful Swarovski crystal colors as I could. I used 4mm bicones in 72 different colors or finishes (AB, AB2x, Satin and I still didn't use them all!) A "fabric" was created using right angle weave, which was then sewn onto the flap of a silk evening bag. The crystals continue for another row on the back, and the flap is secured with a hidden magnetic closure. None of the color circles are repeated. Jet and clear crystal are used to outline the circles and provide definition.
When the bag was finished I named it "Color Chart" because it reminded me of the Swarovski crystal color sample charts. I believe this shows that all colors of Swarovski crystal work together.
I hope you enjoy and have fun trying to see all the different colors!
4mm 5301 bicones in 72 different colors and finishes
Step 1
The design is first charted on graph paper similar to a needlepoint or cross-stitch design, or by using the Create-Your-Style Design Tool.
Step 2
Then the crystals are joined using a diagonal version of Right Angle Weave, which creates straight horizontal and vertical lines.
Step 3
When the "fabric" is finished, then it is sewn onto the purse fabric around the edges.

Wow, I didn't even know that Swarovski had that many colors.
I love the apparent simplicity of the multicolored circles. That simplicity makes for a clean eye-catching design. Beautiful.
