The Rolling Mill: Basics and Beyond

Location: The Newark Museum Arts Workshop

Learn essential rolling mill techniques to imprint texture and pattern to sheet metal and wire for your metal art. Students work with the usual and unusual pattern-making objects on a number of rolling mills in the studio. Annealing and care of the rolling mill will be emphasized. Students must bring their own sheet —brass, copper or silver and any unusual objects as patterns. The studio and instructor will have a good variety of brass patterns and brass/copper wire for use.
