It is good to hear from you here Wendy. I/we have missed your active participation within the Community. Life does have its twists and turns. It is disappointing that your lovely Marine is still under treatment for his injuries but I guess one has to be patient. The Govenmentt works slowly. Your life on the other hand seems full of actiivities with work and school. The addition of the puppy will add another demension to all this.

sorry
Hey guys,
I'm sorry I haven't been on in wow.... I don't even know how long! I do communicate with most of you thru FB but I apologize for not being on here... as most of you know I was accepted into the Metals and Jewelry program at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA. It's been a whirlwind of emotions. I've learned a lot but it seems I've hit a brick wall and not sure what to do about it. But despite that and all other complications life has thrown at me in the last year...
I'm glad to say my boyfriend is back from his deployment in Afghanistan, which I'll admit has also taken my attention away from here. He was injured and is still recovering in TX. Looks like he won't be getting out any time soon until they (govt) can get paperwork in order. It has to go thru all these channels with the marines, the VA, and Washington DC... so yeah we will see on that. But he is doing well and I'm glad he's finally back home.
I got a job at the mall, I've been there for a year now, and I've been promoted to a part time manager position. I'm pretty excited about that. It is a lot of work but a great opportunity. I met a woman at the mall who is a bench jeweler there and I'm going to contact her about a possible apprenticeship. I'd really like one and haven't been able to find one yet. Ultimately I'd like to be in TX but that all depends on when I'm graduating (which is still up in the air... yay more paperwork) but one step at a time. I'm trying to make connections and networking trying to find someone out there who lives there and could help with job searching, etc.
Health wise, I'm doing better. I was diagnosed towards the end of last year with a stomach ulcer and a moderate case of anxiety... but what college kid doesn't have that now a days huh?? ;) I'm coping and eating a different diet which helps on good days. And I'm currently only taking classes part time. I'm also getting a puppy, which I know is a lot of work, but with the lack of friends here (0) I'm extremely lonely, and coming home to an empty house is getting depressing. So I'm excited about that.
I will be posting on FB photos of my new pieces, unfortunately no Swarovski at the moment. I'm taking a stone setting class so I'm learning ALL different types of settings for faceted stones and making a lot of beautiful rings. I'll post them when they're all finished. I hope you are all well and that you're having a great new year so far.
Love always,
Wendy
