In the 21 years we have been in business, we have had so much fun creating and working with many designers. Supporting them with trimming, beads, knowledge and creativity. It's funny how I get a chill or "chicken skin" when I see something or someone exciting. and I know I just really want to see them succeeed , and I try to support them with whatever knowlege I have as well as trimmings.
Our latest and favorite Andy South: we would see him from time to time come in to purchase flatback Swarovski stones to place them on pageant dresses, and one day we saw him on PR8! We were so excited for him... we basically stalked him as we went from event to event, befriended him on Facebook , lucky for us, he knew who we were so it was fun as he always posed for photos, got invited to parties and after parties.. and we got to meet Tim Gunn. !
As a SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS Ambassador, I felt it was time to give him a call and show him the entire line of SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS.. I had just gotten back from our September training , Andy was so inspired and amazed with the extent of the collection of components, he had no idea existed! He is such a sweetie and an amazing designer, he does love SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS!! And will try to incorporate the sparkle in his future collections. At this present date he is still holding my giant SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS collection book and my inspiration guides (he is still dreaming !! )
Andy At first considered moving to NYC but as reality of expense hit and the outpour of connections and the many many doors that have opened for him and support he experienced in Hawaii he decided to stay. He has teamed up with a company called lovelessism ,designing womens apparel under the label, South by Andy South. He has had the opportunity to spend sometime with famous photographer, David Lachapelle at his estate in Hana, Maui which gave him the connections to inquiries from famous singers to design costumes for them what's next? He has a clothing line ready and being manufactured. His line was just picked up by Nieman Marcus !! And, he is currently teaching a course at the community college school of fashion where he attended as well as JAy Sario from Project runway 7, and we are exploring the idea of bringing sparkle to the design students along with Andy educating them to the better side of life...
