All About Tucson-Part 1

This must be the place!

Those of you that know me through our Sparkling Community Chit-Chat know how much I love Tucson. Well, I'm home now from my 5th year attending the Create Your Style in Tucson event that Swarovski sponsors, and full of the creative energy that radiates and bounces around all the surfaces just like the light from our sparkling Crystallized Swarovski Elements!

Swarovski's show is different from all the others in Tucson because it is based on sharing knowledge, not on selling products. 10 workshops are held daily for 4 days, and this year there was even one in the evening (btw, great idea, hope to see more of this next year.)

Various designers and application experts (many are Create Your Style Ambassadors) come in from around the country to teach these workshops. Swarovski sponsors the workshops, which keeps the cost low; often well below what one would pay for the elements alone.

Additionally, designers conduct free demonstrations showing easy or new techniques and examples of the various ways Crystallized Swarovski Elements can be used.

Spectacular pieces from the Inspiration books and Design Competitions are on display. Jacky's Fabulous Neckpiece

Crystallized Swarovski Elements are available to look at (and drool over) in the main showroom and a beautiful crystal curtain provides a sparkling backdrop for all the activity. Everywhere you turn, light and color bounce off the walls....everything is Crystallized!

I read this and couldn't figure out why I couldn't comment on it :(

Then I realized I wasn't signed in ;) lol..silly wendy! ^_^ Anywho, I really enjoyed this and I can't wait to see MORE MORE MORE!!! I've been bouncing around facebook on my down time (which is not a lot of) and I'm loving the pictures! Val, Diane, Noel, Lilian, Kellie... Fernando DaSilva was there teaching and doing a book signing!!!! AHHH :( I can't believe I couldn't go. Jacky's necklace was there and just so many people I'm sure I'm forgetting to mention!

Glad to see you enjoyed the time, one day I hope to make it there. Maybe with some of MY pieces....wouldn't that be something?! :) Until then....just dreaming and living vicariously through you all.

Must be a lovely honour being involved with such a Professional organisation. Everything looks so clean, spacious and well organised. Thanks for telling/showing us all the special features of the event...looking forward to part two.

For me is a dream to be able to attent into this kind of event .For two year now am working only with swarovski crystallized elements and my shop will be ready soon .....My own Crystal paradise!

But as much as i want to take part to this events i must fly for more than 10 hours and change 3 airplanes to come to Tucson, and i tichet is very expensive (1500 euro).

If i can suggest ,will be very interesting and easier not just for me if a show like in Tucson can take place in Europe. !!!!

Wonderful Idea!

While Tucson is unique (the Gem & Mineral shows last for almost 3 weeks and various shows are found all over the city) the Create Your Style show could be held almost anywhere. Swarovski has been sponsoring similar shows around the world, so who knows, a European show may very well be in the works.

One of the purposes of this blog is to bring the idea, feeling and fellowship of Tucson to all our Sparkling Community members around the world. Many of my Tucson friendships began or were renewed right here, in our Community Chit Chat forum area. We share and inspire each other much the same way as we did at the Tucson show.

I am thrilled to hear that your shop will be opening soon, and I would love to hear more about it. How about introducing your self in our Chit Chat area...and tell us more! I know our other members would love to know how you have gone about preparing to open your Crystal Paradise, where you are located, etc. We are here to encourage and applaud you!
